Environment

LAUZON offers the benefits of a fully integrated operation from forest to floor.
This allows us to responsibly manage every aspect of production, ensuring that our sustainable values are a part of every process. We have access to a guaranteed 25-year supply of renewable raw materials from a territory that is one and a half times the size of the state of Connecticut  in the USA.

“Embracing environmental stewardship simply makes for sound forestry practices – and it is the right thing to do. LAUZON was doing the right thing for the environment long before it became fashionable or necessary.”

- David Lauzon, President

FSC Certified

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international organization that promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world’s forests. FSC is also an international certification and labeling system, which guarantees that the wood products you purchase come from responsibly-managed forests and verifiably recycled sources. When you buy wood with the FSC logo, you’re helping to ensure there will be wood in the forest for generations to come. Presently, all LAUZON solid Maple flooring products are FSC certified (Classics Collection only).

Efficient Sawmills

Our organization’s innovative technology and ongoing improvements have resulted in revolutionary sawmill operations that will impact our entire supply chain by optimizing the yield of every tree.  As compared to conventional sawmills, our new highly-automated milling technologies deliver 50% more yield on harvested logs, more more product for less trees. Our sawmill operations are amongst the best performing in the world .

Green Products

We have dedicated years of research and development to all aspects of our flooring manufacturing processes; our efforts have resulted in eco-friendly products that we are proud to offer on the global market. Our hardwood floors can help achieve LEED credits in construction projects, and our finishes contain NO solvents and are free of VOCs and formaldehyde agents. Our engineered flooring uses 42% less wood overall and 80% less hardwood than conventional hardwood floors, making it an exceptionally “green” choice.
